Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato - Tuning by AG Classic Car Tuning

The above is a lovely example of a Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato as tune by AG Classic Car Tuning

On arrival this car had been stood a good few months and was a reluctant starter.   The owner informed AG that prior to standing, it had actually been running just a little rich and had a slight tendency to cut out occasionally when running at slow speeds.  AG investigated and firstly set the points gap, in order to achieve the desired dwell angle and ignition coil charge time.

After a little tweaking here and there AG got the car running and then proceeded to set the ignition timing and sure enough the exhaust gas analysis showed it to be running rich.  Richer than could be provided via the idle jet circuit within the carburettor.  So...AG then part stripped both Solex Carbs and identified where the problem was.   Upon restart it was much much leaner, and and hence allowing AG to run the car safely whilst reballancing the carburretors at idle and also during throttle activation.

Before you know it the carbs were balanced, the idle gas exhaust emissions were on target and the fine tuning was nearly there.......all good and soon to be back on the road again.
