1951 Daimler Consort - Tuning by AG Classic Car Tuning

The above is a lovely example of a 1951 Daimler Consort as tuned by AG Classic Car Tuning

On arrival this car was described as running 'pretty well' and in truth it was!!  However, there is still no harm in checking over all the key aspects of the carburation, ignition and ignition timing.  In doing so a number of tweaks/improvements could be made to how this lovely classic vehicle ran.

First issue was the the TDC Marker as previously used was quite a bit away from telling the truth. As you can see from the image below.

With the points dwell angle now set correctly, ignition timed in to a correct 'TDC' marker the fuelling and burn quality cold now be judged as taking place at the correct point in ignition time.

With an upgrade to the carb needle used on the Single H4 SU carb, exhaust gas analysis at multiple RPM stages, the tweaks were successful....fingers crossed it can make another 75 years of motoring.
