TVR Taimar, 3.9 V8

Having spent many years putting this TVR together the build quality and attention to detail on this TVR Taimar was fantastic.  The final piece of the puzzle was then getting the 3.9 V8 engine running as it should be.

On arrival the ignition timing had been set by a friend, just to get the most basic of rumble from the v8 engine.

AG Classic Car Tuning, checked many safety factors first.  Prior to start up the ignition system was checked over and the 'ballast' resistor replaced due to being out of tolerance.  Points gap physically reset prior to dwell angle checks when running.  Condenser replaced, with a dry resin type.  The ignition timing was set to the desired static figure, before being optimised to the mechanical advance curve check points using a stroboscope.

Fuelling wise the Edelbrock 1403 had already been set to nominal values before start up.  Electric choke adjusted, and once running it was then set to give the desired fuelling at multiple rpm check points for optimisation.

Now.......no doubt the owner can't wait to get it out on the road and to a few local events when the weather allows.
