Naylor TF 1.7 'O' Series

Required electronic ignition fitting

Contrary to what people are led to believe the Naylor TF cars were actually a factory built in Shipley, and are not a kit car.  They share many similarities in their styling to the 1950's MG 'T' series however based around the more Morris Ital & Marina engine's & running gear.

Tuning notes and requirements

Being based around the BMC 'O' Series this car uses a HIF6 SU carb and classic Lucas distributor.  After becoming tired and concerned about the quality of todays 'points and condensor' the client contacted me and asked me to install a modern 'contactless' electronic ignition module and of course give the car a quick tune up in terms of fuelling and ignition timing.  A relatively simple task......

Post tune notes

The quality of 'points and condensers' available as spare parts these days varies greatly, and the condensers especially are prone to failure.  With the added ease of starting, economy and reliability modern electronic contactless ignition modules are easy and discretely installed within the existing distributor bodies and caps.  Often the perfect solution towards retaining period authenticity and styling whilst improving reliability considerably.  An affordable and worthwhile upgrade for any classic car, which could prove to be the difference between starting when needed....or not.
